The color scheme and ideas on this relatively old template, with images from the manga Donten ni Warau, are rare today. It's from a transitory phase, where the styles were not as excessive as in my older layouts and I was more careful with the alignments, yet still not responsive and far from what would be considered a good layout today.
That said, one of the purposes of this blog is to show how my skills evolved, so I'm not shying away of displaying how I started. But looking at this, I also realize that, while my skills evolved, my creativity... not so much. Especially now that minimalism is so valued, I feel like there is less freedom for people to mess around. If some of the ideas I had for this layout were more polished or better executed, the result might have been better. That's one of the reasons why I applaud people who are still going strong with old blogs and continue creating "old-school" templates for their personal corner of the web.
