One of my first fanarts of No.6, one of the bigger passions of my life.
I started by watching the anime, which is a bad adaptation of the novels in the second half, but still meant a lot for me since it was the first time I saw same-sex attraction depicted so naturally and the relationship was essential to move the story, but not its plot. Then I proceeded to read the manga and even buy it (it wasn't even completely online at the time), read the novels, read the Beyond novel, lots of fanfics, draw fanarts, create a blog to help make the content accessible to portuguese fans, create a tumblr, engage with the fandom, celebrate the birthday of the characters, and only stopped years later. THAT is the intensity of my admiration for that story.
In this drawing (from 2016), I like how similar the characters look to their appearance in certain manga panels, the "bad guy" vibe, the clothing, the hexagons associated with the importance of bees that are a recurring symbol in the story, and how they are both touched by light and shadow but in different proportions.
